Teacher among 2 killed in mishaps

JAMMU, May 12: Two persons were killed while another received serious injuries in separate road accidents in Rajouri and Poonch  districts today.
A young teacher was killed as his bike was hit by a Sumo in Nowshera  area  of Rajouri this morning, an  elderly man was knocked to death by a bike at Rajouri town  this evening while a bike rider was critically injured after he was hit by a car near Surankote in Poonch this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that teacher Rajinder Kumar, son of  Munshi Ram, resident of Balshama in Sunderbani area of Nowshera was hit by a Scorpio vehicle when he was going to his school on his new bike in the morning.   The teacher was rushed to Sunderbani hospital with critically injuries where doctors declared him as dead. The police registered a case and seized vehicle.
60-year-old    Mir Hussain, son of Shams Din, resident of Potha was seriously injured  after he was hit by a bike  near DC office Rajouri  this evening. He was rushed to District Hospital Rajouri where doctors provided first aid and then referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of serious head injuries. He succumbed to injuries  near Kallar  between Rajouri and Nowshera. His body was brought back to Rajouri hospital late this evening.  Bike rider managed to escape.
One  Sayed Hamdani, son of Riaz Shah, resident of Potha was seriously injured after his motorcycle was hit by a Maruti car  at Yogi Morh near Sunrankote this afternoon. The youth was rushed to Surankote hospital  by police and then  referred to GMC hospital, Jammu.  The police seized the car (without number)  while driver managed to escape after accident.
