MENDHAR, Jan 8: The police has registered an FIR against a Govt teacher for allegedly beating up a VLW in the office of BDO Mendhar today. Reports said teacher Abdul Rehman, resident of Harmutta, who is also husband of a lady Panch of that village, allegedly attacked VLW Haq Nawaz during some altercation over the issue of MNREGA works. BDO Shakeel Ahmed was also in the office when the incident took place. The staff intervened and the injured VLW was shifted to local Mendhar hospital. The entire staff struck work and they moved to Police Station and lodged an FIR against ther teacher posted at Govt Girls High School Harni. Later, the BDO office staff moved to the office of SDM Mendhar and narrated the whole matter demanding security. The SDM Romesh Kumar assured that action under law would be taken against the accused person who is husband of Panch of Harmutta Panchayat Halqa.
