Teacher injured in bear attack

POONCH, Dec 17: A teacher was injured when he was attacked by a bear in forest area of Balakote this morning.
Official sources said that incident took place when 30-year-old Mohd Naseer, son of Fazal Hussain, resident of village Nar Mankote in Balakote block, was going to attend his duty at Govt Primary School Chui. When he was moving through forest area on foot, a full grown bear ambushed him, causing serious injuries. He grappled with the wild beast for some time and was later rescued by the villagers.
BMO Mendhar, Dr Parvez Khan said that victim with serious injuries was brought to SDH Mendhar. He was provided immediate treatment here and later, was referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. BMO said bear has caused serious injuries on the face of Naseer and he needs special treatment.
