JAMMU, Feb 24: A teacher died in a road accident at Akhnoor area here today.
A scooty driven by one Antu Devi wife of Gourav Mehta of Ward Number 9, Akhnoor, collided head on with another scooty driven by two persons identified as Rajat and Avinash, both residents of Ambaran, Akhnoor, resulting in injuries to the trio, police said.
All the injured were taken to hospital but one of them, Antu Devi, succumbed to her injuries while the other two are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College Jammu, they said.
According to police, the deceased woman was a teacher of Army Public School Akhnoor.
While the body of the deceased has been handed over to her family members after performing the medico-legal formalities a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and further investigation taken up.
