JAMMU, Oct 25: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu today placed a teacher under suspension after he was arrested under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Kana Chak area here.
Sandeep Kumar, who was posted at GHS Chatha Gujjran in Zone Marh, Jammu was arrested in case FIR number 0168 under sections 9, 10, and 75 of the POCSO Act on the complaint of a ninth standard student of his school on Thursday.
After the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Marh and Head Master GHS Chatha Gujjran communicated CEO Jammu about the misconduct of the teacher, the latter was placed under suspension by the CEO Jammu.
“On the basis of information received from ZEO Marh and Head Master GHS Chatha Gujjran against Sandeep Kumar, Teacher Grade II GHS Chatha Gujjran Zone Marh Jammu, has been arrested by Police Station Kana Chak Jammu, who is involved in an FIR number 0168 dated October 24, 2024 under sections 9, 10, and 75 of the POCSO Act.
“As such Sandeep Kumar, Teacher Grade II GHS Chatha Gujjran Zone Marh Jammu, is hereby placed under suspension with effect from the date of his arrest i.e. October 24, 2024,” read an order issued by CEO Jammu.
