Teachers demand salary

KISTHWAR, May 4: A meeting of advisory board of Masters and Teachers Association of District Kisthwar was held here today under the presidentship of Mehboob Ahmad Qazi to discuss the burning grievances of teacher community.
The meeting discussed in length various issues pertaining to the community. It was observed that the first salary of teachers of last five to six months falling under plan scheme is still awaited. Moreover the first installment of 6th Pay Commission under the above scheme has not been credited into their GPF accounts, which is a matter of serious concern.
The meeting appealed the Director School Education, Jammu, to intervene personally for settling their grievances. It also appealed all the DDOs to draw the salary of their officials (in particular ReTs) within stipulated time fixed by the Government and to deposit the monthly subscription (GP) of all Head teachers working under SSA in CSS on monthly basis within stipulated time.
The Association further appealed the Director to adjust those teachers who are working in remote areas for the last more than 20 years against the teachers who are going to be promoted as masters.
Besides, all the members in one voice appealed MLA Kishtwar and MLA Inderwal to intervene for the appointment of a competent Chief Education Officer for the District.
