NEW DELHI, Aug 21: A delegation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), called on Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadakar, Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and Dr Mandeep Kumar, Private Secretary to HRD Minister in New Delhi today and discussed the issues of SSA Teachers/Masters in the J&K State.
The delegation, led by Prof Jagdish Prasad Singhal, all India president of ABRSM, Dev Raj Thakur, State president and Rattan Sharma, State general secretary, discussed the entire issues of Rehber-e-Taleem teachers with the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadakar and demanded his intervention into the matter for one time solution of the issue.
They said that from 2003 to till date, about 41680 Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers have been appointed under SSA scheme in the J&K State. “After completion of five years satisfactory service , they were regularized as Regularized R-e-T teachers under SSA scheme and provided all benefits of 6th Pay Commission, promotions at par with other General line teachers in the State . But now the State Government granted benefits of 7th Pay Commission to all its employees excluding these 41680 Regularized ReT teachers and 5000 Head teachers on the plea that they have been working under Central Govt sponsored SSA scheme,” the delegation explain.
The delegation sought immediate intervention of the HRD. Minister into the matter to direct the State Government to resolve the issue also demanded provision of special funds for extending benefit of 7th Pay Commission to all Regularized ReTs.
Prakash Javadakar gave a patient hearing to the whole issue and assured the delegation that the Central Government will issue necessary instructions to the State Government in this regard.
Earlier, the delegation also met Dr Jatinder Singh, MOS PMO, who is also Member Parliament from Jammu Kashmir, to plead the issue with the MHRD Ministry. The delegation also discussed the entire issue with the Minister and demanded issuance of necessary directions to the Jammu Kashmir Government for early release of all pending dues as per 7th Pay Commission
The delegation comprised of Mahendra Kapoor, Prof Manoj Sinha of Delhi University, Rattan Sharma, Kartar Chand, Radha Krishan and others.
