Teacher’s Federation hold meet, highlights demands

JAMMU, June 22: Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teacher’s Federation held a meeting under the chairmanship of its State president, Bhushan S Verma and Maheshwar Parsad, convener, and discussed in detail the problems being faced by the teachers during work in the field and school.
While speaking, Bhushan S Verma, said that there is shortage of books in schools, as the present academic session has already completed its 3 months.
He said that the schools have been closed for summer vacation without allotment of homework to the students. He added that 1500 posts of teachers are lying vacant in the schools in the rural areas and demanded its fulfillment.
During the meeting, large number of teachers condemned the attitude of the Government for not granting selection grade to under graduate teachers who have been trained in the department about 20 years back.
In the meeting, Girdhari Lal, teacher, was appointed as president for Bishnah Tehsil and the remaining body will also be elected accordingly.
Among others present were Omkar Singh, Davinder Kumar, Narinder Singh, Ganesh Paul, Vir Singh, Gopal Singh, Mohan Lal and Inderjeet.
