JAMMU, Jan 12: Members of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation held a protest demonstration, here today,  against the prevailing  mess in School Education Department where the concerned authorities were violating their own orders and policies.
The protesting teachers raised slogans against the Government and alleged a chaos in the School Education Department. “Despite notifying a Transfer Policy, prematured transfers are being affected by the Directorate of School Education while the Master, who have completed their stay in other districts, are still awaiting their adjustment in the home district,” the Federation said and alleged under hand dealing in recent transfers and adjustments of Masters.
The Federation also voiced its concern against the alleged harassment of teachers on the name of verification, screening test etc. Instead of looking into the grievances of teachers and ensuring timely release of salaries under RMSA, SSA, NPS, the Government was harassing the teaching community and the Federation would not remain a mute spectator over the prevailing situation, said Maheshwar Prasad, general secretary of the Federation, who was leading the protest demonstration.
The Federation leader also highlighted various other demands of the teaching community, such as Selection Grade to Undergraduate and ReTs, disengaging teachers from all duties other than teaching, training to school teachers and introduction of moral education in school curriculum.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by other leaders of the Federation, who vowed to expose corrupt practices in the School Education Department.
