Teachers Federation seeks probe into recent transfers, adjustments

JAMMU, Sept 25: All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation has demanded a Vigilance probe into the recent mass transfers in School Education Department and suggested that all Masters attached with CEO Jammu be deployed in DIET Jammu for drawl of their salary.
Talking to media persons, here today, the newly appointed president of the Federation, Mohan Singh alleged pick and choose policy in recent transfers in the Education Department and said that a through probe was needed for strict action against the officers responsible for creating such chaos.
Highlighting the plight of Masters attached with CEO office, he suggested that all of them should be deployed in DIET Jammu so that their salary may be drawn regularly. He also demanded a clear-cut policy on transfers as well as for adjustment of newly promoted Masters and Lecturers.
Stating that the Government employees were also hit by the recent flash floods due to incessant rains, the Federation general secretary Maheshwar Prasad, demanded Income Tax exemption to the employees for the year 2014-15 besides release of DA installments with immediate effect.
He also demanded immediate repair and reconstruction of the damaged school building and stressed that the Government should avoid deploying teachers other than educational activities. The deployment of teachers as BLO and other activities like Survey, RMSA, SSA etc during the session severely affects studies of the students, he explained.
On the occasion, the outgoing president of the Federation, Bhushan S Verma was also present. He announced to quit the office of president and unanimous election of Mohan Singh as the new president.
Maheshwar Prasad informed that working committee of the Federation unanimously elected Mohan Singh as new president after Bhushan S Verma offered resignation following his superannuation from Government service.
