JAMMU, Jan 3: A delegation under the leadership of Ganesh Khajuria, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, called on Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary School Education Department, J&K UT and discussed burning issues and long pending demands pertaining to the teaching community as well as for the welfare of students of Govt Schools of JK UT.
The delegation put forth the demand for adjustment of Headmasters promoted in February 2023, filling up the vacancies of Principals, ZEOs, Lecturers , DPC of Teachers to Masters in Jammu, promotion to the PG Masters/Teachers of different subjects who have attained the PG Degrees through Distance/ Correspondence modes, transfer of Teachers recruited under ReT scheme, bringing teachers of JK UT at par with teachers of other UTs of the country in terms of salary, allowances ,grade and other emoluments, enhancement in the Medical Allowance of the employees , updation of final seniority list of different PG subjects, implementation of running grades in favour of the Officers of the School Education Department, removal of pay disparity of Masters, Encashment/Earned Leave to the employees of School Education Department on the pattern of the employees of KVs, JNVs and Central Govt schools.
The delegation also demanded implementation of Minimum Wages Act for consolidated paid workers (CPW), PM Poshan Cooks, Land donors, Chowkidaars etc working in the deptt, creation of Non-Plan posts of Masters working in the erstwhile upgraded SSA schools, removal of pay anomaly of the teachers appointed under SRO 202 during the year 2019, enhancement in the remuneration amount for the school uniforms up to 8th class and revisiting the Zonation before ATD -2024 besides decentralization of the powers for the transfers of the teaching staff.
The Principal Secretary listened to the demands and issues patiently and said some of the issues were already in vogue and for others he gave on spot directions to the concerned authorities. He assured Ganesh Khajuria that every genuine demand will be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
Those who accompanied Chairman JKTF, included Mohd Shafi Rather, Darshan Sharma, Jamat Ali Agah, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Kulddeep Verma, P D Singh, Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Subash Chander.
