Teachers Forum passes resolution

JAMMU, July 28: A one-day conference of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum was held at Kathua for discussing various issues pertaining to teachers and students in the State.
After detailed deliberations and discussions, teacher passed an academic resolution addressed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seeking necessary action.
The resolution suggests rationalization of all posts of lecturers, Masters  and  Teachers on priority,  starting LKG Class in Government  schools, filling all vacant posts of lecturers, Masters and  teachers, free  distribution of text books, introduction of moral education as  a subject in all schools at various levels, creation of separate directorate for primary education to strength the primary base, proper monitoring mechanism of all schools through a permanent school education wing,  equal ratio of  female and male staff in all co-education schools, taking teachers unions in  confidence while introducing the free text books and syllabus at various levels in schools, transparent transfer policy with one year stay in hilly areas, providing packed dry food/ fruits  to  children in place of mid-day meal and handing over the arrangements to any  agency other than teachers, constitution of  an independent examination board to conduct the examinations at primary level, filling all vacant posts of PETs PEZO and creation of new Physical Education Masters post in all schools upgraded under RMSA.
During the convention, Surjeet Singh was nominated as zonal president of Barnoti Zone. He was authorized to constitute the zonal body.
