Teachers Guild launches poster campaign

JAMMU, May 23: An urgent meeting of Teachers Guild Jammu and Kashmir was held, here today for formal launch of a poster campaign  based on 45 important issues and demands of teachers, Government schools and students community.
The meeting, attended by the State executive council, zonal councils and different cells of Teachers Guild, was chaired by Nasir Ahmed Qurashi, State president besides Vijay Kumar Sharma, State general secretary, and others.
The poster campaign was launched with the sole aim to aware the Students Fraternity, Village Education Committees, Parent-Teachers Associations, Mother-Teachers Associations, School Development Management Committees, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Non Government Organizations, Social Workers, Political Parties, Electronic and Print Media and General Public and for their support with regard to addressing these issues and demands for the streamlining of education department, education system and providing quality education to the students of Government schools of Jammu and Kashmir State.
The various issues and demands highlighted by the Teachers Guild through the poster campaign included;  re-organization of Educational Zones in the light of newly created districts and administrative units, formation of HR/Cultural and Information Cells in both directorates and all CEO offices, Internet facilities to all Zonal Education offices, High and Higher Secondary Schools, supply of syllabus of all classes at the beginning of Academic Session, review of all textbooks in order to enhance the self study of students, frequent services in rural and far flung areas to provide better transport facilities to the students, teachers and other employees, invite transfer proposals from Headmasters, Zonal Education Officers and Principals as per their needs, make transfers subject specific for the betterment of students, establishment of language Labs at Elementary level, computerization of Data -Base of teachers, Masters and Lecturers, engagement of private vendors for Mid Day Meal Scheme, Conversion of all plan posts into non-plan posts, removal of pay anomaly of Master Grade, enhancement of Medical Allowance, etc
