JAMMU, July 1: Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir  has appealed the Government to regularize the Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers having degrees from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan.
The appeal was made during a meeting of the Guild, held at its headquarter in Jammu in which the members of the State executive council, zonal councils and different cells of Teachers Guild participated.
The meeting was called upon by its Programme Coordinator Naryan Baru in order to discuss the burning issues of Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers, who have obtained academic and professional degrees in Sanskrit from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Jammu Campus. In the meeting, which  was chaired by its State president Nasir Ahmed Qurashi besides Kewel Krishan Shastri,   detailed and serious deliberations were held regarding various issues of Sanskrit Teachers vis-à-vis non-regularization of Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers having degrees of Sanskrit, their departmental promotions, their appointments through Jammu & Kashmir State Subordinate Recruitment Board and Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission.
Nasir Ahmed Qurashi, State president of Teachers Guild,  appealed to the Director School Education Jammu  Smita Sethi to stop  discrimination and step motherly treatment towards the Sanskrit language. “Regularize all the Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers who have obtained their degrees in this language from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Jammu Campus,” he said and sought to know that when UGC was recognizing  the Sanskrit Sansthan as  Deemed University and  its courses are recognized by the State Government and Jammu University, why the Sansthan Jammu Campus was being categorized as Study Centre instead of Deemed University?  He said that Teachers Guild would never tolerate this unjustified and step-motherly treatment with Sanskrit language. On the occasion,  other participants also raised their voice against the discrimination with Sanskrit language and appealed the Director School Education Jammu, Chairman State Subordinate Recruitment Board and Chairman Public Service Commission to consider the courses and degrees of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Jammu Campus equivalent to courses and degrees of other boards and universities.
