Teachers meet CEO, project demands

UDHAMPUR, May 19: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) led by its State general secretary Ganesh Khajuria met Chief Education Officer (CEO) and discussed various issues pertaining to the teaching community.
During the meeting, Khajuria expressed resentment over the delay in the adjustment of Masters and Headmasters by the higher authorities and thus creating an environment of confusion among teaching community.
He projected various demands including board assignments regarding conduct of examination rationally and without favoritism and for the appointment seniority of the official must be considered, fixing of 2 to 3 days a week for Zonal Education Officers to remain in their office for the disposal of the routine official work and all the charges relating to the mid day meal be released by the end of every month.
He also demanded distribution of free supply of books well in time, fixing a time period for disposal of GP fund cases, conducting of 3rd and 5th classes exams by schools, time bound auction of dead stock articles, honorarium for the persons engaged as waterman, sweepers to be enhanced to Rs 1000 per month and clear cut transfer policy.
Chief Education Officer gave patient hearing to the demands and assured to redress the genuine demands of the teaching community at the earliest.
Among others present were Gopal Singh, provincial president, Surinder Sharma, district president, Ramparshad, Rajesh Sharma, Ravi Padha, Ashok Kumar, Sanjay Sharma, Chaman Lal, etc.
