Singla takes review of School Education Dept

JAMMU, May 30: Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, Dr Piyush Singla took a detailed review of School Education Department, and asked the CEOs to make a direct linkage of salary increments with the result performance of Teachers.
Director Finance SED, Iftikhar Hussain; Manisha Sareen, Secretary, JK BOSE; DSE Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain (virtual mode), Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Sharma; Rakesh Magotra, Project Director Samagra Shiksha (State/UT Nodal Officer, PM SHRI), Director Planning, Parshotam Kumar, Deputy Director Planning, Bilal Rashid, Jagdeep Padha CEO Jammu, Ashwani Kumar, Coordinator PM SHRI attended the meeting in person and CEOs of various Districts remained connected through virtual mode.
During the meeting, Dr. Singla, issued strict directions for maintaining the regularity and punctuality of Teachers, through the Online Attendance System, JK Attendance. He directed that daily attendance report of the Districts/Zones, should be shared with the CEOs, for better monitoring on daily basis. Shadow areas management shall be strengthened through involvement of Community and Village Education Committees, to ensure the quality education, he maintained.
Dr Singla asked the CEOs to examine the results of Teachers and make a direct linkage of salary increments with the result performance of Teachers. He also asked the Directors, to make the DDOs accountable for the performance of Teachers and no compromise shall be made with the education of children.
Dr. Singla stressed upon the Physical Inspections for field monitoring as per the directive issued by the Education Department and asked that the presence of the District heads should be felt on the ground level.
Taking inputs from Secretary JK BOSE regarding proper distribution of Books, Dr Singla issued on spot instructions to make the books of all grades available across the UT in a week’s time and CEOs shall furnish the report through Directors accordingly.
He asked the Director School Education Jammu/Kashmir, to make the Cluster system fully operational in order to improvise the Education system and keeping in view the learning outcomes of the students, steps need to be taken. To maximize the efficiency and better sharing of resources, 742 complexes should be fully operational, he said.
During the meeting, detailed review of PM SHRI Scheme, being implemented in the UT, was also held. Project Director Samagra Shiksha Rakesh Magotra, State/UT Nodal Officer, PM SHRI informed that, in J&K UT, 389 Schools have been designated as PM SHRI Schools; 233 in First Phase and 156 in 2nd Phase, whereas 3rd phase & 4th Phase selections are yet to be done.
Dr Singla directed all the Chief Education Officers to put the mechanism in place, so that the PM SHRI Schools may offer mentorship to other schools in their vicinity. He got the detailed inputs, regarding funds utilization and conduct of various activities in PM SHRI Schools, like vermi composting units, installation of Selfie Points, holding of various co-curricular activities, providing of sports material, LED lights, water purifiers, making schools as green schools etc.
He further said that, the PM SHRI schools will deliver quality teaching for the cognitive development of students and will strive to create and nurture holistic and well-rounded individuals equipped with key 21st century skills. He stressed upon the capacity building of Teachers, where ever required and 100% filling of posts of PM SHRI Schools, as the Scheme is being monitored by the Prime Minister of India. He asked for regular monitoring of the PM SHRI Schools at District/ Divisional/ UT level.
