Teaching Association of SKUAST-J demands release of 10% DA

JAMMU, June 27: Teaching Association of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) in an executive committee meet today appealed to the Government  to release 10 per cent Dearness Allowance due from January last in favour of the employees.
President of the association,  Dr Vikas Sharma said that the salaried class is facing a lot of economic hardships due to price hike of all day to day needed commodities and release of due DA installment well in time is a genuine demand of the employees.
The employees also made an appeal to the University authorities and to the State Government that Dearness Allowance earlier used to be released to the University employees with the Central Government employees but for the last few years the same is released with the State Government notification. They requested the authorities to resume the previous system of releasing the DA hike to the University employees at par with the central employees.
The association made appeal to the State Government to take immediate decision for the release of 10 per cent DA and to increase the medical allowance in favour of employees from the immediate effect.
The meeting was attended by Dr Vivak M Arya, Dr PK Rai, Dr Devinder Sharma, Dr Rajeev Bharat, Dr Poonam Parihar, Dr Vinod Gupta, Dr Vijay Bharti, Dr Mahital Jamwal, Dr SP Singh, Dr AC Jha, Dr Magdeshwar Sharma and Dr Jai Kapoor and University employees mass.
