JAMMU, Apr 24: A joint meeting of Incharge Lecturers, Gazetted officers and Teachers was held under the chairmanship of Amar Nath Thakur, Chairman All Incharge Gazetted Cadres, +2 Lecturers and Jammu Kashmir Government Teacher’s Forum.
During the meeting, detailed deliberation was held on all burning issues like regularization of Incharge Gazetted officers and Lecturers, rationalization of teaching staff, implementation of online annual transfer drive in favour of all cadres, implementation of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in favour of all employees, releasing promotion lists of Teachers to Masters, Masters to Headmasters, sanctioning of staff in 110 hanging high schools and 60 educational zones etc.
The teaching fraternity also threatened to organize protest rallies if all their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
Briefing media after the meeting, Amar Nath Thakur appealed Principal Secretary School Education Department B K Singh that regularization process of all incharge gazetted officers and lecturers should be completed at the earliest possible to provide justice to all. He said thousands of +2 Lecturers posts are lying vacant in many rural higher secondary schools while at least 10000 teaching staff would be retiring in the next two to three years and if no timely action is taken, the situation would be worse.
“Rationalizing teaching staff should be initiated in all over JKUT , more particularly in Jammu and Srinagar districts and all those lectures or teachers of other districts serving in Jammu and Srinagar cities should be sent back to their home districts,” he said, adding that online transfers policy should be implemented in favour of teaching staff in all districts. He also appealed Lt Governor to regularise all daily wagers of all departments without delay as they are fighting for their genuine rights for many years.
Briefing media persons, S Parveen Singh, President JKGTF appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to implement Old Pension Scheme in favour of all employees in JKUT.
