JAMMU, June 10: A team of Motor Vehicles Department, headed by RTO, Jammu, Pankaj Bhagotra laid special naka at different locations near Purmandal Morh, Kunjwani, Sidhra Bye pass road and Akhnoor Road from June 3, 2023 to June 10, .2023 to check various visible offences under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.
During the period, nearly 330 vehicles, which included Buses, Tippers, Trucks, School Buses, two wheelers and Tempo Travellers, were checked for various offences viz. Route Permit violations, Overloading,
Over speeding, protruding of rods, without Uniform, over height, disobedience, without PUCC, without HSRP, without Driving License, without Crash Helmets, etc., out of which 147 vehicles were challaned/compounded. An amount of Rs. 4.10 lakh was realised on the spot from violators and Rs 8.05 lakh is expected from the remaining challans.
Further, Four Route Permits were also recommended for Suspension.
The enforcement team comprises Rehana Tabassam ARTO (HQ), Jammu, Esha Chib ARTO(G), Sh.Kuldeep Singh ARTO(P), Sh. Neeraj Sharma, ARTO(Flying Squad) and Motor vehicles Inspectors Sh Surinder Kumar, Sh Vikas Srivatas and Sh Jasbir Singh.
