REASI, Dec 31: A teen aged girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substances at her home in Bharakh area of Pouni.
The deceased was identified as Shivani Devi (17), daughter of Chaman Lal, resident of Shaktinagar Bharkh, Tehsil Pouni of Reasi district. She allegedly swallowed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances. She was immediately taken to the Primary Health Centre Pouni where she died during treatment.
After postmortem, the dead body was handed over to the family members. Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
