SAMBA, Nov 15: A nineteen-year-old girl allegedly tried to end her life by jumping from a bridge on Basantar river here today.
As per police sources, a girl identified as Pinky Devi (19), daughter of Rattan Chand, a resident of Kalibari village, parked her scooty on the bridge on Basantar river and jumped off the bridge here this morning.
After getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the girl to District Hospital, from where she was later referred her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
