RAMBAN, Aug 10: A teenager was killed, while two other persons received injuries, when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in, skidded-off the road and plunged into gorge near Pogal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramsoo police station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-7114 was on its way to Pogal from Ukhral, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into gorge, resulting into injuries to three persons.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ukhral, where doctors declared one of the injured persons as brought dead and referred the two injured persons to District Hospital Ramban for advanced treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Sajad Ahmed (18), son of Habibullah, a resident of Trigam, Pogam, while the injured have been identified as Ibrar Ahmed (19), son of Manzoor Ahmed and Mohammad Akbar Lone (25), son of Farid Lone, both residents of Pogal.
A case in this regard has been registered at Ramsoo police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the driver, who managed to escape from the spot.
