Tehsildar booked for issuing fake RBA certificate

JAMMU, Mar 23: The Vigilance Organization Jammu has booked then Tehsildar Banihal for issuing fake RBA certificate.
A case FIR has been registered against Jitender Mishra, then Tehsildar Banihal on the outcome of verification conducted into the allegations of concealment of facts and inclusion of fake RBA/OSC/ALC certificates by J&K Public Service Commission by most of the selected KAS candidates.
A verification conducted revealed that one RBA certificate was issued in favour of Indra Thakur, daughter of Hari Om Singh Thakur of Alambass, Tehsil Banihal, district Ramban by the then Tehsildar Banihal Jitender Mishra in violation of the laid down provisions of J&K Reservation Act 2004. On the basis of that certificate, the beneficiary Indra Thakur got selected in KAS in the year 2001 under RBA category.
In this manner, the aforesaid acts of omissions and commission prima facie establish offence punishable under Section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006, and accordingly case FIR has been registered against the accused for further investigation.
