UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: Tehsildar Basantgarh, Karanjeet Singh presided over the 2nd Day of 3-Day Multimedia Exhibition on Seva Sushan & Garib Kalyan, Mission LiFE, at Basantgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Karajeet Singh said that these outreach programmes in far flung areas help to get connected with the mainstream and generate awareness among the masses.
Khursheed Yousuf (Field Publicity Officer, CBC Udhampur) said, “The Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting through its Central Bureau of Communication Department is entrusted with the task of disseminating information about Government policies, schemes and programmes through the different mediums of mass communication especially to the far-flung and media shadow areas like Basantgarh.
Speaking on 6th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, Yousuf said, the focal point of Poshan Maah 2023 is to cultivate widespread awareness concerning critical human life stages: pregnancy, infancy, childhood and adolescence. He said the aim is to foster nutritional understanding across India through a theme centered on “Suposhit Bharat, Sakshar Bharat, Sashakt Bharat”.
Anuradha Sharma (Child Development Project Officer, Basantgarh) in her address said, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) has been and is an excellent mother and child development programme and its implementation has been outstanding in most of the areas which has been possible only through the hard work of ICDS ground workers.
Block Development Officer, Basantgarh, Jahanzeb in his address informed the audience about various initiatives of Rural Development Department taken in Basantgarh, especially regarding Swachha Abhiyan. He urged all to Join hands in keeping Basantgarh neat and clean and protect the fragile environment.
Besides students, teachers, locals, ICDS workers, supervisors, Anganwadi workers, the programme was attended by Principal GHSS Basantgarh Rajinder Kumar. The event was moderated by Gurnam Singh, TA(s) CBC, Udhampur.
During the event, a quiz was organized on Seva Sushasan & Garib Kalyan and cultural programs were performed by the students and empanelled PRT of CBC. The prizes were later distributed among the winners of quiz and cultural programs.
