Tehsildar, Revenue officials among 25 booked by Crime Branch

JAMMU, July 18: Crime Branch Jammu has booked 25 persons, including a Tehsildar, four Patwaris and a Girdawar for forging Revenue records and committing fraud.
The accused have been identified as then Tehsildar Daljeet Singh, then Patwaris Abdul Haq Fani, Partap Chand, Har Mukand, Ram Saran and then Girdawar Soom Dutt besides Mukhtar Ahmed, his brother Tariq Hussain, Baldev Raj, Krishan Singh alias Koudi Singh, Angrez Singh, Pritam Singh, Hrnam Singh, Sewa Singh, Charan Singh, Natwar Singh, Nihar Singh, Charan Dass, Suneet Singh, Kair, Kaka, Tara, Mohan, Sarbo and Rattan Lal of Chatha Gujran in Jammu.
The case under Sections 420, 465, 466, 468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w Section 5(2) PC Act Svt 2006 has been registered against them.
The case was registered following an inquiry on the written complaint by Administrator Aquaf alleging tempering of record of the Wakaf land measuring 46 kanal, 3 marlas under Khasra number 563, 276, 593 and 369 at village Chatta Gujran, block Marh in Jammu.
In the records of 1996-97 Bikrmi, this land was entered as Maqbooza Ahl-e-Islam, out of which 43 kanals and 3 marlas under Khasra number 369 was graveyard. However, as per the Jamabandi of year 1968-69, Girdawari of 1971 and later years, the records were tempered for benefiting the accused persons by the Revenue officials. Girdwari was made in the name of Rattan Lal son of Daulat Ram Mahajan whereas mutation numbers were registered in the name of Abdul Sattar, Abdul Rehman Naik and others by the Revenue officials.
