Telangana sets ambitious goal of becoming a USD1 trillion economy

HYDERABAD, Jan 28 : Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reiterated his government’s commitment to making the state a USD 1 trillion economy, emphasising the success of recent investment initiatives.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the CM highlighted the state’s achievement of securing investments worth Rs 1.80 lakh crore during the recent World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, calling it a milestone in Telangana’s growth trajectory.

“We are grateful to the companies that have chosen to invest in Telangana. This is a significant achievement for our government. Despite attempts by some to spread negativity and discourage investments, we have gained the trust of global investors,” said CM Revanth Reddy.

The Chief Minister announced major collaborations, including an MoU with the Singapore government for establishing a skill development university aimed at enhancing technical expertise and student exchange programs.

He also noted agreements with major companies like UBS, Multivac Group of Switzerland, and Capitaland, the latter pledging Rs 450 crore for a skill center.

“These partnerships are steps toward shaping Telangana into a global hub for technology and business,” he said, adding that such efforts would create employment opportunities and drive economic growth.

CM Revanth Reddy criticised the opposition for attempting to undermine Telangana’s development efforts, stating, “Some people take pleasure in seeing us fail. They spread false narratives about investments in Telangana, but the trust of global investors speaks for itself. Telangana has emerged as a leader in per capita income and investment inflows.”

He urged political opponents to set aside differences when it comes to the state’s development and stressed the need for collective efforts to achieve sustained progress.

IT and Industry Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu elaborated on the government’s focus areas, including youth employment, skill development, and environmental revitalization.

He revealed plans for the rejuvenation of the Musi River, aiming to provide cleaner air and a better quality of life for Hyderabad residents.

“Our government has consistently worked to attract investments that benefit the people and youth of Telangana. This year’s investment inflows are four times higher than last year’s,” Sridhar Babu noted, adding that Hyderabad is increasingly being recognized as a global brand for business and technical skills.

The Minister also reaffirmed the state’s energy policies as a driving factor behind Telangana’s appeal to international investors, emphasizing that such efforts bring the state closer to its USD1 trillion economy goal.

The Telangana government plans to allocate land and provide necessary support to facilitate these investments while maintaining a business-friendly environment. “The future of Telangana lies in partnerships that foster innovation, create jobs, and enhance the state’s reputation on the global stage,” the Minister added.
