SRINAGAR, May 27: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies Nawang Rigzin Jora said that telecom industry has to play vital role in boosting the economy of the country and also facilitate job opportunities to thousands of educated youth of the State.
The Minister was speaking at a seminar on the eve of World Telecom Month, which was organised here today.
Mr. Jora said presently thousands of youth are engaged with a dozens of communication channels like Aircel, Airtel, BSNL etc and are getting handsome salary.
Referring the role of e-governance in Urban Development, Mr. Jora said that the Department has a number of websites including Jammu and Srinagar Municipal Corporations where the people are able to get death and birth certificate on line. He further said people are also being provided on line building permission and can complaint through website, which is a great achievement of the Urban Development Department.
Appreciating the 10th class student Mr Waseem for his innovative mission, which he exhibited at the function, Mr. Jora said that every University should setup innovative centres to encourage the young innovators.
Earlier, the Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that such events have a great impact on the minds of the young kids who get inspire by such methodology. He said that innovation of Mr. Waseem would definitely inspire young kids.
Mr. Mir further said that positive thinking instead of negative approach can yield better results on the ground. He stressed upon the J&K youth for positive thinking and asked them to prove their metal as they really are special class with innovate brain and culture.
Later, Mr Jora and Mr Mir awarded mementos to Mehvish Mushtq, Fazil Mir, Waseem Ahmed, representatives of Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, SSM, and IUST on the occasion.
