Temple theft case worked out

JAMMU, Apr 5: Police claimed to have worked out a temple theft case registered at Akhnoor Police Station, besides recovering the stolen amount of Rs 36305 from the burglars.
A police spokesperson said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Akhnoor by one Bari Ram son of Badri Nath of Dhok Khalsa stating therein that some unknown persons committed theft in the Baba Maimal Temple.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 109/2023 under section 457/380 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Followed by this, the police spokesperson further said that a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal assisted by SHO concerned Inspector Harjeet singh rounded up three suspects with the help of human and technical intelligence.
He further said that the accused identified as Abdul Razak of Kandayal, Jourian, Mohammad Mukhtayar of Troti, Jourian, and Shabir Ahmed of Kandayal, Jourian, confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen amount of Rs 36305 was recovered.
“Further investigation is on,” he said.
