SAMBA, Aug 31: A massive protest was held by the J&K Temporary Teachers Association, Samba led by Balwinder Singh Divisional president of the Association and Bhopinder Choudhary, its district president Samba at Veer Bhoomi Parak Samba today.
Hundreds of teachers participated in the protest and took out a procession from Veer Bhoomi Park to Tehsil headquarters highlighting their demands.
Raising slogans in support of their demands the protestors urged the Government to settle their problems.
Demanding continuation in Government service the protestor said that the Government has betrayed them by making false promises.
Balwinder Singh while addressing protestors said that they will intensify the agitation by holding protest at every district headquarter in the State. He alleged that the Government was befooling them and during the 43 day long hunger strike all Ministers and MLAs including Education Minister and Finance Minister gave assurance to the Association representatives but all proved false.
He said the temporary teachers will hold a massive protest in front of Press Club on September 4. He appealed all the temporary teachers to participate in the protest.
Bhopinder Choudhary, district president Samba said that Government was playing with the future of educated youth which will not be accepted at any cost.
Ramesh Singh and others also addressed the rally.
