JAMMU, Nov 21: Deman-ding continuation of their service, temporary teachers of Jammu province held a protest demonstration, here today.
The protest was organized under the banner of J&K Temporary Teachers Assoc-iation-2014, Jammu. Bhupinder Choudhary, general secretary of the Association, led the protest demonstration.
The protesting temporary teachers raised slogans against the State Government and in support of their demand. They were demanding continuation of their service from March 2015.
While addressing the gathering, Bhupinder Choudhary alleged that the Government was making false assurance to them whereas no action was taken on their demand. BJP and PDP, in their agenda, had assured to address the problems of youth but after coming to power, both the parties have turned a Nelson’s eye towards our grievance, he alleged and appealed Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayed to personally look into their demand.
Others, who addressed the gathering, included Vicky Saini, Hardev, Ashwani, Harpal, Deepak, Rajni, Sapna, Asha, Nisha and Sushma.
Pertinent to mention that around 8000 Temporary Teachers were engaged in Primary, Middle and Secondary Schools throughout the State in 2014 for one academic session. They were appointed on merit basis at Panchayat and Zone level.
