Ten-day theatre workshop concludes

REASI, Oct 5: Organized by Abhinaya Kala Manch Reasi, the 10-day theatre workshop concluded today with two short plays.
The concluding function was held at Dramatic hall of the Shri Vaishno Devi College of Education. On the occasion, Chairman Municipal Committee Reasi Sudesh Puri was the chief guest while Yog Raj vice chairman was the guest of honour. Romesh Chander, Principal LPS, presided over the function whereas Dr Surinder Singh, Principal VDCE Reasi, was the special guest.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi at Lawrence Public High School, Reasi. In the workshop, aspiring students learned acting, script writing, expressions, emotions and other forms of the theatre art.
The participants of the workshop today presented two short plays namely “Plastic Mukt Bharat” and “Jal Hi Jeevan Hai”, which were prepared by them during the workshop. Anjali Anand, Darminder Rathore, Rohit Kumar and Shadab Khan were the experts in the workshop.
Others present on the occasion included Councilors MC Jahan Ara Khan, Amit Sharma, Tripta Dubey, Ashok Kumar, Om Parkesh, Dolly Suri and Varun Sharma.
The participants of the workshop which included Ananya, Shivam, Tammama, Akshra, Deepanjali, Mannat, Nimra, Divyanshi, Tribhu, Abhijeet, Sarish, Aviyukt, Vanshika, Krishna, Ragunandan, Hari Om and Khushvinder Singh, were awarded certificates by the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudesh Puri said that the students showing interest and taking part in such workshop of performing arts is a positive sign of development of art and culture in the State. He added that both the teachers and students should be disciplined as well as dedicated in their efforts to improve the academic environment through such type of workshops.
