Ten injured after jumping from out of control bus

RAMBAN, July 2: Army along with J&K Police here today averted a major tragedy on Jammu-Srinagar Highway when a bus returning from Amarnath Yatra and proceeding to Hoshiarpur in Punjab went out of control due to brake failure in Nachlana area of Ramsu.
Sources informed that ten passengers jumped out of the moving bus bearing registration number PB02BM-9389 near Army camp in Nachlana and sustained injuries.
Security forces deployed along the Highway including Army personnel noticed passengers jumping out from the moving bus and they swung into action and managed to stop the bus by placing stones on the road.
The injured included six men, three women and a child.
Army’s Quick Reaction Teams along with ambulance reacted instantly and provided medical assistance and first aid to all the injured at Nachlana.
Police identified the eight injured person as Rohan Kumar, son of Sohan Lal; Sunder Pal, son of Taj Chand; Rajni Devi, wife of Raj Kumar-all residents of Hoshiarpur, Punjab; Vikrant, son of Raj Kumar; Raj Kumar Sharma, son of Amarnath, resident of Hamirpur (HP); Shiv Kumar, son of Kamaldeep, resident of Saharanpur (UP); Sagar Sharma, resident of Ludhiana (Punjab) and Simran Nagerwal, daughter of Mohan Lal, resident of Hoshiarpur (PB).
After providing medical aid all the injured were shifted to PHC Ramsoo where doctors said they were stable.
