RAMBAN, June 11: Police here today foiled 10 bovine smuggling bids, registered 10 FIRs, arrested 10 bovine smugglers, rescued 152 bovines and seized 8 vehicles involved in the crime.
Police sources informed that cops from Police Station Batote intercepted five vehicles and during their checking found 42 bovines loaded in cruel manner and were being transported illegally. One person was arrested in this regard.
In another incident cops from Police Station Batote intercepted a man who was taking 12 bovine animals on foot towards Kashmir without any permission.
In yet another case cops from Police Station Chanderkote intercepted two vehicles and during their checking found 72 bovines loaded in cruel manner and were being transported illegally. Two persons were arrested in this case.
In still one more case, cops from Police Station Ramban intercepted one vehicle and during checking found 20 bovines loaded in it in cruel manner and were being transported illegally and one person was arrested in this case. Meanwhile, cops from Police Station Ramban also intercepted one more person who was taking 6 bovines on foot towards Kashmir without any permission.
Police have registered FIRs with number 85/ 86/87 /88/89/90/2024 at Police Station Batote, FIRs with numbers 89/2024 and 90/2024 at Police Station Chanderkote, FIRs with numbers 135 and 136 of 2024 at Police Station Ramban under relevant Sections of law and started investigations.
