JAMMU, July 11: Tenure of the incumbent Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees has been extended by three months in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A decision in this regard was taken by the Government as tenure of the present bodies was going to end soon.
As some Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees were demanding that early elections should be conducted or the existing committee should be allowed to legally proceed further so that the works carried out by them may not suffer, the Government announced to extend the tenure by three months.
The Government decision on extending the tenure was conveyed through official twitter handle of the Department of Information and Public Relations.
