Termination order not to affect schools, colleges: Govt

JAMMU, Mar 27: The Government today clarified that the order issued by GAD on March 17, 2015 with regard to termination of various types of engagements on contractual basis in various Departments and Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies/ Boards etc does not cause any disengagement in the Government Degree Colleges/ Schools of the State.
In reply to the Calling Attention Notice of the Congress Legislator, Naresh Gupta in the Legislative Council today, Minister in-charge Education, Naeem Akhtar said that in the absence of regular faculty, the department has been making academic arrangements by engaging eligible candidates against the vacancies for the duration of the academic session or until a regular employee is posted/ recruited, whichever is earlier.
Therefore, the Government order No. 384-GAD of 2015, dated 17-03-2015, read with clarification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) vide letter No. GAD (ADM) 68/2007-V, dated 18-03-2015 does not cause any disengagement in the Government Degree Colleges/ Schools of the State.
The Congress Member while drawing attention of the Government towards this matter of urgent public importance pleaded that with the issuance of Govt Order No. 384-GAD of 2015, dated 17-03-2015, in respect of Para (b), with regard to the termination of all type of contractual engagements in various departments/ PSUs/ autonomous bodies, the teachings in schools and colleges has been badly affected and the career of the students jeopardized.
