Terror attack on Armymen condemned

JAMMU, June 25: Various organizations and prominent individuals have condemned terrorists’ attack on security forces in Kashmir valley and stressed the need for sustained operations to flush out ultras.
Condemning the killing of Army jawans, JKNPP leader Prof Bhim Singh has demanded dismissal of Omar Abdullah-led coalition Government and imposition of Governor rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media persons, here today, Prof Singh said that killing of Army jawans on the Highway in broad day light proves that NC-Congress Government in J&K has become security risk and it must go in the national interest. He announced that the Panthers Party would hold a dharna on June 27 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi for Governor Rule in J&K in the greater national interest.
In a joint statement, senior National Conference leaders strongly condemned the terrorists’ attack at Hyderpora Srinagar yesterday and said that by committing such type of acts, the ultras cannot break will of the nation which is committed to bring peace in the State. Normalcy and peaceful atmosphere is must to have the meaningful dialogue and NC is committed to bring peace in the State, they said and appealed to the misguided youth to shun the path of violence and come in main stream to solve all problems being faced by people of Jammu and Kashmir. Signatories to this statement included Rattan Lal Gupta, Th Kashmira Singh, Jugal Mahajan, Rahim Dad, Wali Dad, Vipan Pal Sharma, Vijay Lochan, Surinder Singh Bunty, Ram Parkash Suri, Vijay Chibber and others.
Expressing his anguish over the killings of cops and Armymen in the attacks by the ultras during the past few days, former Union Minister and MLA Jammu West Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that terror attack on the eve of PM visit indicated that the things were worsening amidst tall claims of restoring peace and tranquility in Kashmir. The more intriguing is that the operations for cleansing of the terrorists and enemy agents have been mysteriously suspended for quite some time past despite official confirmation that over three hundred trained terrorists were still active in Jammu and Kashmir, he said. The MLA said that on one hand the activities of the terrorists and anti- national elements were mounting, on the other cries for curtailing the powers of the forces enshrined in the AFSPA were being raised with the bogy of violation of human rights.
BJYM protested killing of Army jawans at Srinagar by holding a strong protest demonstration at Kathua. Led by the State general secretary Inderjit Singh Sambyal and distt president Damanjeet Singh, a number of BJYM activists assembled near Shahidi Chowk Kathua and strongly protested against the NC-Congress Coalition Government. They raised slogans against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his alleged anti-Army attitude and demanded his immediate removal from the post of CM.
State president of Janata Dal Secular, Mast Nath Yogi has said that the terrorist attacks on security forces should open eyes of those who are demanding AFSPA revocation and withdrawal of troops from Srinagar and other sensitive area. The Government should take stern measures to curb the militancy in Jammu Kashmir before more lives are lost, he said.
Holding Pakistan responsible for sponsoring terrorism in Jammu Kashmir, All J&K Sikh Unity Forum has said that inhuman terrorist attacks would not deter people of the State to strive for peace, brotherhood and integrity of J&K.
Rashtriya Shahidi Yaadgaar Committee Jammu and Kashmir has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on security forces and appealed the Government to crush the armed terrorists with iron hand. The committee also opposed rehabilitation policy for the militants as such elements work as over ground workers for the terror organizations.
