Terror attacks widely condemned

JAMMU, Sept 26: Several organizations and prominent individuals have strongly condemned the terrorists attack on Hiranagar Police Station and Samba Army camp in which 10 persons, including Armymen, cops and civilians were killed.
Strongly condemning the terrorist attack, State Bharatiya Janata Party termed the incident as a major security lapse and total failure of the UPA Government which had allegedly adopted a soft approach towards Pakistan and terrorism.
A group of senior BJP leaders, including State president Jugal Kishore Sharma, Ashok Khajuria, Dr Nirmal Singh and others visited the residence of Suresh Kumar who was killed in the terror attack, and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
Condemning the attacks, PDP patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed said that the attackers had put the statesmanship qualities of the two Prime Ministers to a severe test  but continuation of talks will be the best response to elements that have made sabotaging of peace process their mission. Though the attack looks deliberately timed to sabotage the scheduled meeting between Indian Prime Minister and his Pak counterpart, it is a matter of relief that Singh is going ahead with this important engagement, he said while addressing a convention of party office bearers of Kashmir province.
PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has strongly condemned the terrorist attack and said that the incident was a plot to sabotage the peace initiatives between India and Pakistan. Pakistan should know that such terrorist activities can not go hand in hand with its desire to promote cordial relations with India, Prof Soz said and asked Nawaz Sharief to crush terrorism with iron hand.
Terming the incident as most unfortunate and unwarranted,  Pradesh Congress Committee has conveyed its deep sympathy with the families of those who were  killed by the terrorists. The attack has been engineered by Pakistani agencies to sabotage the scheduled meeting of Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan aimed at normalization of relations between the two countries, said a statement, issued by Dharm Pal Sharma, Th Hari Singh, S Gurmukh Singh, Prem Sagar Aziz, Mula Ram, MLC Ravinder Sharma, Vinod Sharma, MLA Indua Pawar, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLC Rani Gargi Baloria, and others.
Member of Parliament from Jammu-Poonch constituency, Madan Lal Sharma has  termed the  attack cowardly and frustrated act of militants who have almost lost ground and people’s support in the State.  He asked the Pakistan to desist from providing support to such groups.
Minister for Roads and Building Abdul Majid Wani has strongly condemned the terrorist attack and conveyed his sympathies with the family members of those killed in the incidents. He said that attack was sponsored by those forces that are inimical to peace and J&K and Indo-Pak friendship.
Minister of State Dr Manohar Lal Sharma and MLC Subash Gupta visited the bereaved family of civilian who died in terrorist attack and expressed they sympathy. They strongly condemned the terror attack, which was aimed to sabotage scheduled talks between Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharief.
J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president M K Bhardwaj for expressing its grave concern over the attack and failure of the intelligence agencies to check such incidents through strong network of information.
The Association appealed the State and Union Government to take stern action against such incidents which demoralize  moral of the armed forces and have the effect of creating a sense of insecurity and terror in the minds of the people.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry also strongly condemned the terror incident and termed it as attack on the nation.
An emergency meeting of the Chamber was held under the chairmanship of its president Y V Sharma to express solidarity with the next of the kin who have lost their lives in the attack. Mr Sharma appealed the Government to strengthen security forces and take stringent measures so that such incidents may not occur in near future.
JKNPP leader Prof  Bhim Singh  has condemned the terrorists attack and termed the same as a handiwork of Pakistan Army. He said that the coalition regime  of NC-Congress has become a security risk as there is no trace of governance in the State.
The Centre should take immediate action by calling the emergency meeting of all the intelligence agencies  to take appropriate steps that such terror activities are not repeated, he said.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader R S Chib has expressed sympathy with the families of  those killed in terrorist attack and asked the Government to take all security measures to avoid such incidents in future. He also visited the injured in hospital and inquired about their condition.
Expressing his sympathy with the families of  those killed in terror attack, MLA Bishnah Ashwani Sharma  asked the  Government to strengthen security forces and take all out measures for ensuring that terrorists could not dare to commit such attacks in near future.
Bahujan Samaj Party, in an emergent  meeting under the chairmanship of State president Tulsi Das Langeh, strongly condemned the terrorist attack and expressed sympathies with the families of those killed in the twin incident. The BSP also asked the Government of India and particularly Prime Minister Dr Manohan Singh not to hold any talks with Pakistan unless and until the neighbouring country stop abetting terror activities against India.
Janta Dal (United) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its  State president G A Wani and strongly condemned the terrorist attack. Terming the attack as an attempt to sabotage scheduled talks between Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharief, Mr Wani said that all out steps should be taken for security of the people.
Condemning the terrorist  attack, Janta Dal ( Secular) has also asked the Government to take strong measures to check such incidents. In a statement, the JD (S) State president Mast Nath Yogi said that the Government of India should not talk with Pakistan, which was sponsoring terrorists.
Anguished over the terrorist attack, activists of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) held a strong protest against Pakistan. Led by State Prabhari, Yudhvir Sethi, the protesting BJYM activists torched an effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif amid raising slogans against UPA and Pakistan.
The BJYM activists, led by State president Ravinder Raina, marched towards Hiranagar and held a protest in the town against terrorist attack. They raised slogans against the Government and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
In Udhampur also, BJP activists held a protest demonstration and torched a Pakistani flag. Led by  Pawan Gupta, the protesters  raised slogans against Pakistan and UPA Government.
Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) led by its president Sunil Dimple held anti-Pakistan rally against killing of police and army personnel and civilians in militants attack at Hiranagar and Samba. Dimple condemned the killings by the militants and asked the State and the Central Government to take strict action to avoid  such incidents.
Former Legislator and senior Congress leader Ashok Sharma expressed concern over killing of people, army personnel and civilians by the militants at Hiranagar and Samba today. He urged for strengthening entire security grid along the border and in the hinterland to thwart any attempt of militants to disturb peace and en-danger the life of people in the State.
Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of Retd Lieutenant Colonel Manohar Lal Kaith and condemned the terror attacks on army and police.
Residents of Upper Roop Nagar, Sector 4 held a meeting under the chairmanship of Narinder Singh and condemned shameful and cowardly attack of terrorists when especially peace talks between the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan were scheduled to begin.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri condemned the twin terrorist attack and asked the Government to strengthen security forces in Jammu and Kashmir for avoiding such incident in near future.
Senior Congress leader and PCC member Arun Sharma has strongly condemned the terrorist attack and asked the Government to launch special operations for elimination of terrorism in J&K besides strengthening borders along Pakistan.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) senior leaders held a meeting under the chairmanship of its State president Randhir Singh and condemned terrorist attacks at Hiranagar and Samba.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) President HL Chatta condemned the militants attack at Samba and Hiranagar.
Shiban Khabiri, a well known Columnist of the State also condemned the militants attack at Police Station Hiranagar and Army Camp at Samba.
Provincial president of People’s Democratic Front, Tej Ram Dogra has expressed serious concern over the terrorist attack and alleged that the Government has failed to check such incidents despite intelligence inputs.
Bharat Bhandari, State president of All India Anti Terrorism Front, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Samba and Hiranagar and asked the Government to give free hand to the security forces for crushing terrorism in J&K.
Senior  Congress leader and former State vice president of PYC, Ajay Tony in a statement has condemned the killing of Army, police and civilians at Kathua and Samba districts.
National United Front (NGO) in its meeting under the chairmanship of Vijay Mahajan and attended among others by Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Bhushan and other members condemned the incident in strong words.
Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Patanjli Yog Smiti, State president Bansi Lal condemned the terror attack and said that there was no fun of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh holding talks  with his Pak counterpart Nawaz Sharief.
Sangram Sena president R R Raina has also condemned the terrorist attacks in Samba and Hiranagar. He said the Government should act tough against terrorism and their supporters.
Senior NPP leader Abhinandan Anand has expressed sympathies with the families of those killed in terrorist attack and demanded free hand to security forces against terrorists.
Kashmiri Pandit Sabha president K K Khosa has also strongly condemned the fidayeen attacks at Samba and Hiranagar today and killings by them.
In a statement issued here today, Khosa demanded that the talks with Pak should be suspended in view of the involvement of neighbouring country in fidayeen attacks and increasing terrorist activities.
