Terrorist attack on bus carrying pilgrims widely condemned

JAMMU, June 9: Different political and other organizations here today condemned terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi in which nine persons were killed and 33 others were injured.
BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K, Tarun Chugh condemned the heinous terrorist attack on pilgrims in Reasi. He expressed his deep sorrow and outrage over the incident which resulted in tragic loss of 9 innocent lives and injuries to 33 others. Chugh described the attack as a coward and barbaric act aimed at sowing fear and disrupting peace and harmony in the region. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and assured that BJP stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time. Chugh said that such acts of terror will not be tolerated and reiterated government’s commitment to eradicate terrorism from the region. He praised the swift response of security forces and emergency services for promptly carrying out the rescue operation.
Congress condemned the targeted terror attack on Yatris in Reasi district. In a statement JKPCC chief, Vikar Rasool Wani termed the attack as sinful and most coward act. The chief spokesperson of Congress, Ravinder Sharma shared the pain and shock of the families of those killed and injured in the attack.
JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla and senior Congress leader, Ch Lal Singh strongly condemned the killing of nine people and injuries to 33 others in a terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims which fell into a deep gorge in Reasi area. The Congress leaders expressed serious concern over repeated attacks on pilgrims as several empty rounds of bullets were found from the spot. They said that India will never tolerate such coward attacks and demanded that the Government should leave no stone unturned to root out the perpetrators of this heinous crime and should investigate lapses in security.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Yogesh Sawhney condemned the terrorist attack in Reasi where a bus carrying pilgrims was fired upon killing 9 passengers. He extended condolences to the families of the victims and urged the authorities concerned to take swift action. Sawhney said that it is high time that security is prioritized and added that such gruesome acts of violence should have no place in the present society.
Ashok Sharma, former Legislator and provincial vice president DPAP condemned the terrorist attack on pilgrims from Banaras in which nine persons including children were killed and many others were injured on Kanda (Taryath) Ransoo road today. Sharma demanded stern action against the anti-national elements involved in targeted killings. He urged upon the Union and the UT Governments to provide at least Rs. 25 lakh compensation to each family of the deceased and Rs. 5 lakh to the injured besides providing specialized treatment to the injured and prayed for early recovery of those injured in the incident.
NC provincial president Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district on Sunday. Gupta termed the attack as a failure of security and intelligence agencies and stressed on the urgent need for enhanced vigilance and protective measures. He said that when the PM was taking oath at the Centre, the security agencies had not made necessary measures at sensitive areas to avoid such incidents. The NC leader stated that earlier the rise in terrorism in Rajouri and Poonch districts was alarming and now it is being witnessed in Reasi which is a matter of grave concern. He said that the Union Government should take serious note of the escalating terrorist activities in J&K to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi District. Bukhari said that the terrorist attack on innocent pilgrims was an attempt to sow the seed of discord among the communities to destabilize the peaceful situation in J&K. He demanded ex-gratia in favour of next of kins of the deceased pilgrims and best medical treatment to the injured pilgrims.
J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Jammu strongly condemned the dastardly act of terrorists targeting pilgrims in Reasi. JKHCBA Jammu urged the UT and the Central Governments to wake up to this alarming situation and destroy the network of enemies outside and within. “This attack on Hindu pilgrims was aimed at shaking the secular fabric of this country in which the evil design of the terrorists and their masters would never succeed,” a handout of Bar Association maintained.
Gaurav Gupta, former general secretary of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district in which 9 pilgrims were killed and the vehicle subsequently plunged into a gorge. Gupta expressed profound shock and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in this senseless act of violence. He said that militants and anti-national elements are relentlessly attempting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of J&K and demanded that the Government should brace-up security grid and mobilize intelligence network to ensure that such horrendous attacks should be stopped in the coming time.
Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi. J&K Shiv Sena chief, Manish Sahni said that indiscriminate firing by terrorists on a bus carrying pilgrims left 9 people dead and 33 injured. He questioned the failures of intelligence agencies.
Shri Ram Sena, J&K president, Rajiv Mahajan condemned the militant attack on pilgrims in Reasi. He said that the attack was to disrupt the peaceful conduct of spiritual activities and was an attempt to incite fear and disrupt communal harmony.
President Jammu Heritage Society, Bhuvneshwar Gandotra condemned the coward act of terrorists on pilgrims in Reasi leaving nine of them dead. Gandotra expressed hope that the terrorists involved in the heinous act might be eliminated soon and confidence of tourists and pilgrims coming to J&K is restored. He prayed for peace to the departed souls and urged the government to give all the necessary aid to the family members of the deceased and those who are injured.
