Thannamandi deserves tourist circuit: Vibodh

RAJOURI, May 6: Showing concern over apathy of present and past Governments who failed to exploit the tourism potential of Thannamandi tehsil in Rajouri district, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State vice president, Advocate Vibodh Gupta today blamed the local MLAs and MPs for their failure to bring the district to the tourism map of India.
Addressing a polling agents meeting from 30 villages in Thannamandi, Vibodh focused on the tourism potential of the area, which, he said could put Rajouri district on the track of the development.
Vibodh promised that if voted to power in Centre, the BJP Government would give more attention towards the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts, which according to him is the most neglected lot, as these districts are always ignored by the previous State and Central Governments.
He further said that Thannamandi deserves to be announced as a ‘tourist circuit’ which would help the people from different strata including poor to earn the source of their livelihood and it would also help in reviving the local economy.
“Tourism is known to be an economic multiplier and it can create jobs for the unemployed youth of the State in general and for Rajouri district in particular”, Vibodh stressed.
He argued that BJP believes in good governance and the prime goal of the party and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is ‘development for all’ irrespective of their cast, colour and creed and only this approach can develop the nation.
