RAJOURI, Mar 1: A village in Thannamandi tehsil of district Rajouri is without electricity and water supply even after 67 years of independence.
A large number of people from Mangota Mal, hardly 6 kms from Thannamandi town, reached the tehsil headquarters on Saturday and took up the issues with the Tehsildar Dr Abdul Kabir. The villagers led by Naib Sarpanch lodged their protest with the Administration and alleged that no water and power supply was available in the village having nearly 35-40 houses.
Mushtaq Shah, Salam Din and Ghulam Nabi alleged that electric polls and even water pipes were supplied after Septembers 2014 floods to many areas of Thannamandi but this village was remained neglected. Despite repeated requests to the MLA and other leaders the issues have remained unresolved. The people of the area are facing lot of problems. They gave ultimatum of one week to the Administration to start work otherwise, the villagers would launch indefinite protest dharna.
