People of elderly class are now inclined to experience a paradigm shift in the growing generations. They feel that the dawn of Golden Age has begun. These growing generations are promising, pioneering and patriotic. They view that the world is Lord’s Global Family and a time has come to unite and strive for Universal Brotherhood sharing joys and sorrows cutting across the false lines drawn by persons of narrow vision. The electronic media and the fast communication systems have brought the people closer. Any happening anywhere spreads its ripples all over instantneously attracting reactions and responses of people throughout the length and breadth of the world. They think let the inherent virtues of Truth, Rightenousness, Peace, Love and Non-Violent rule the world. The succeeding generations are equipped with versation talents and interests. Barring some misguided youth, all want peace, prosperity and prudence to prevail to live purposeful life committed to the service of mankind mutual cooperation and a polite society. These generations believe in good education, freedom and opportunities to manifest potentials to the fullest.
The recent massacre of innocent children, we shall call them, of their ‘Global or World Family’, in Peshawar sent shock waves all over the world and severely pained every heart. The deep wounds caused to their parents of the innocent victims will be a perennial obsession through out their life. In fact the act of brutality had enveloped the world in gloom.
May God grant sanity to those who thoughtlessly take to violence in wanton destruction and killings. The succeeding generations do not approve violence, greed and immoral behaviour. They are averse to the shadows of slavery and colonialism on humanity any more. They strongly condemn the painful past in which millions of human beings were killed and slaughtered during World Wars I and II and in various conflicts and so called revolutions in the world. The growing generations express their anguish at the misdeeds of people like Nepoleon Bonaparte, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and people of devilish propensity of insatiable thirst for power. There could be No reasons for putting to death millions of soldiers, civilians and animals and destruction of vast assets all over the world. Hitler was responsible for the brutal extermination of over five lac Jews. One shivers to know the mass killings, burning alive, causing blindness and limblessness of millions of men, women, children and animals when two atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August, 1945. After all, for what gains ? The generations in succession are maturing fast. They are delivering themselves from the shackles of narrowness and the stiffling limits and can no more bear the stigma of colour, caste or creed. They are more concerned to healthy growth of economy and good of the mankind. They hold that “Good of the individual is contained in the good of all”.
It is heartening to find that these generations are more awakened and reverentially treat champions of peace, freedom and service to society like Gandhi Ji, Vivekananda, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Albert Einstein, Sir Issac Newton, Marconi and many other saints and sages and of course incarnations appeared from time to time. Sonship in India is now no more the desideratum for lightning the pyre and inheritance of property. Daughters are equally entitled to and are performing all these acts and it is a good sign towards empowerment. Upcoming generations are career conscious, peace loving and believe in brotherhood of man. It is a matter of genuine pride that religious philosophy contained in ‘Sanatana Dharma’ is being welcomed all over the world for its universal character. Faiths, cultures and customs are influencing one and another and benefitting in a befitting way.
They are following the footprints of Gandhi Ji who said- “I have known no distinction between relatives and strangers, countrymen and foreigners, white and coloured, Hindus and Indians of other faiths whether Musalmans, Parsis, Christians or Jews”.
Working together and interacting of people in East and West developes feeling of brotherhood, caring and sharing. These ingredients manifest in them virtues of honesty, devotion to duty, sterling character and spirit of competition. For example, Indians , wherever they live, prove good neighbourers and create good impressions and are well known for their way of worship, meditation and yoga. Their home shrines and community shrines are places of mind lifting and solidarity. Kirtans, bhajans and prayers, festivities and celebrations of Ram Navmi, Janamashtmi, Deepawali, Holi, Rakhi unite people of all faiths whether in India or in a foreign land. Rituals, usage of holy waters, insense sticks, decoration of places of worship and recitation of scriptures are some of the enriching activities that bring magnificence and humility. Periodical gatherings of all faiths help to understand and rever for the good of the society.
Bhandaras (mass feeding), feeding the ants, insects, animals and other philanthropic acts bring divine cheer to all.
The upcoming generations hold that more time and effort can now be given to service-to-mankind-pursuits, health care, economic growth, craftsmanship, fine arts and spiritual upliftment. Thus sentiments of these generations form the public opinion and shall win the goal of Golden Age. However, the food habits, traditions and cultures, institution of family, work culture, philosophical trends, value systems, knowledge and wisdom will widely influence the sentiments contributing to Public Opinion and the best will be globally acceptable.
These words of Abraham Lincoln will go to prove the fact of Public Opinion needed in emergence of Golden Age :-
“Public opinion is everything with public sentiment nothing can fail; without it, nothing can succeed. Consequently, he who moulds public opinion goes deeper than he who enacts statues or pronounces decisions.”
