‘The Runway Diaries’ to host mega fashion show in Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 14: The fashion industry in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to receive a remarkable boost as “The Runway Diaries,” a pioneering platform, is all prepared to host a grand fashion show at the prestigious Hari Niwas in Jammu.

The event will not only redefine the region’s fashion landscape but also serve as a tribute to its cultural heritage.
A statement issued from Ritu Singh, the Founder and Director of “The Runway Diaries” revealed that the platform’s goal is to showcase the rich cultural tapestry, talent, and craftsmanship that Jammu has to offer.
“With a vision to uplift the fashion industry, this initiative aims to provide a platform for local artisans, promote culture, boost tourism, and nurture art and talent with a global perspective,” she said.
The driving force behind “The Runway Diaries” includes Vanita Thakur, a well-established entrepreneur and educationist who has played a pivotal role in nurturing young designers and preserving indigenous art forms in the region.
While Ankita Bansal, with a diverse background in software technology and event management, brings innovation and business acumen to the project Dev Krishan Sharma, founder of Dernier Cri, and Sarita Tondon, a makeup artist and Marketplace Coordinator, are integral parts of the dynamic team.
The “The Runway Diaries” fashion show boasts an impressive line-up. It will open with collections by Varun Bahl and Jyotika Jhalani, with Talla as the jewellery partner. The grand finale will be presented by JWs and Kisna jewellers, with Iqbal Khan and Esha Sharma as their show stoppers. The event will also feature cultural performances, including Bharatnatyam and live Dogri and Sufi songs.
The “The Runway Diaries” fashion show will also showcase the work of 19 local designers from Jammu. Their collections will highlight the rich culture of the region, featuring exquisite Dogra Poshaks with intricate Gota and Zardozi work, a fusion of modern and traditional Dogri designs and Kashmiri embroidery.
This prestigious event has garnered support from sponsors such as Tawi Automobiles, Hero, Dada Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Chandigarh, Ruchika Makeovers, Pans and Pots, Core Fitness, City Walk, October, Paper Baag, Shaalz and Bonn.
