JAMMU, July 18: A Twenty-day long Theatre Workshop on Design and Techniques, organized by National School of Drama, New Delhi in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, concluded today.
Dr Lalit Magotra presided over the function while Anjali Sharma, Director Doordarshan Jammu, was the chief guest on the occasion. N D Jamwal was special guest while M K Raina, Bapi Boss and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Academy, also shared the presidium. The guests took a round of the foyer where the creative work/objects prepared by the participants of the workshop, was exhibited.
Dr Lalit Magotra said that the workshop has proven a pioneering training for the participants. The creative objects prepared by them itself speak about the training they had from the experts of different aspects in make-up, property making, sound designing, costume and in production, he added.
Anjali Sharma said that she was highly impressed by the work that had been done by the participants during this workshop. She also endorsed the accelerated activities focusing rural and remote areas of Jammu region by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages during the period of 2014-15.
N D Jamwal said that those who have participated in the 20 day long workshop are lucky enough as they have learnt a lot about the theatre designing and its techniques.
Earlier, delivering welcome address, Bapi Bose, a pass out form National School of Drama, New Delhi, shared his experiences he had with the participants during this 20-day long workshop. He said that he had conducted so many workshops in all over India but this workshop was special for him because owing to the good behavior of the participants, he is taking sweet memories of theirs with him.
To make the event a colourful one, J&K Academy also showcased the folk cultural items on the occasion.
