Theft again surfaces in Kotranka schools

RAJOURI, May 30: Theft incidents in Government schools falling under Kotranka Education Zone of Rajouri district go on un-awaited.
Official sources said that during last two months, theft incidents have surfaced in 5 schools of Kotranka Education Zone. On the midnight of Wednesday and Thursday, unknown thieves broke the locks of the rooms of two government schools- Government Middle School Pateli and Government Primary School Mahal and stolen computers and children’s records. The thieves also damaged the cupboards by breaking the lockers of the school cupboards.
The teachers told that when they reached the school today morning, they were stunned to see the scene there. The book shelves of the school and five other shelves were found broken with iron rods and the books kept inside were also missing. The school’s computers and some other equipment have also been stolen.
The teachers lodged a written complaint in Police Station Kandi regarding the theft in the school, after which the police reached the spot. The police have registered a case against unknown thieves and also collected evidence like finger prints etc. from the school. The people around the school and the parents of the children have expressed surprise as to what is the motive behind the theft in the schools. They demanded that the thieves involved in the theft in the schools should be traced as soon as possible, so that the records of the children are not damaged.
