Theft case solved; 5 arrested with stolen mobile phones, accessories

JAMMU, Mar 25: Pouni Chak Police solved a theft case with the arrest of five persons along with stolen mobile phones and accessories worth Rs 4 lakhs.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Pouni Chak by a person namely Amit Gupta of Priya Darshani Vihar, Talab Tillo District Jammu stating that during the intervening night of March 12 and 13 this year, some unknown thieves broke open the locks of his shop and decamped with mobile phones and accessories worth Rs 4 lakhs.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 89/2022 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, e team from Police Post Pouni Chak led by PSI Nitish Khajuria was constituted under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma and SDPO Domana Sunil Singh.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area and timely human intervention finally arrested five thieves, who were identified as Mukim, Shabir Ahmed, Kulbir Singh, Arjun Singh and Dinesh Kumar, all residents of Migrant Colony, Talwara, District Reasi.
On their disclosure, stolen mobile phones and accessories worth Rs 4 lakhs were recovered.
It is pertinent to mention that accused namely Mohd Mukim and Kulbir Singh confessed their involvement in an earlier theft case in Reasi in which a pulsar bike was stolen and case under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Reasi. The accused namely Mukim is habitual offender and various FIRs stands registered against him at different police stations.
Further investigation into the cases registered against the arrested persons is going on.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
