JAMMU, May 2: Police claimed today that they have solved a theft case registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and recovered stolen items worth Rs 2, 50, 000.
A police handout said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Miran Sahib by one Inderjeet Singh son of Pritam Singh of Ward number 2, Simbal Camp, Miran Sahib, stating therein that someone stole his motorcycle.
On receipt of the complaint, the handout said, a case FIR number 76/2023 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation taken up.
Followed by this, it said that special teams of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq and incharge Border Police Post Kullian, PSI Chain Kumar, rounded up two suspects with the help of CCTV footage and human intelligence.
The suspects identified as Ashish Kumar of Kirpind, RS Pura, Jammu and Sahil Kumar of Khour Deonian, Tehsil RS Pura, Jammu, confessed to their involvement in the crime during sustained questioning, the police handout read.
It added that on the disclosure of the accused, the stolen bikes, scooties and other articles worth around Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered.
