Theft case solved, four held

JAMMU, Sept 12: With the arrest of four individuals, police claimed to have solved a theft case registered at Police Post Narwal here.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged at Police Post Narwal by one Varinder Pal Singh son of Jash Pal Singh of Channi Rama Jammu, stating therein that some unknown thieves decamped with gold ornaments and an iPhone from their residence.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 210/2023 under Sections 454/380 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During investigation, a team of Police Post Narwal led by SDPO East, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Narwal, SI Lalit Sharma rounded up four persons, said the police spokesperson.
During questioning, the suspected persons identified as Mehboob Akhter, Ayoub Ahmed, Irshad Ahmed, and Mohammad Jameel, all residents of Teli Basti, Bari Brahamana, Samba, confessed to their involvement in the crime, he added.
On their disclosure, the police spokesperson further said that stolen gold weighing 70 grams and iPhone was recovered from their possession.
Further investigation in the case is underway, said the police spokesperson.
