Theft case solved, stolen gold items recovered

JAMMU, May 8: Bakshi Nagar Police today claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen gold items worth Rs 6 lakh.
“Acting on a complaint regarding theft of gold items lodged at Police Post Sarwal by a person namely Susheel Kumar Ganjoo son of Jawahar Lal Ganjoo of Subash Nagar (Jammu), a case under FIR Number 61/23 U/S 454/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by SDPO West Vikram Singh and SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Rakesh Sharma assisted by Incharge Police Post Sarwal PSI Baljeet Singh Parihar under the supervision of SP North Kulbir Handa, rounded up a suspect identified as Shubam son of Satish Kumar of Bakshi Nagar (at present living in Subash Nagar area of Jammu).
“During questioning, the suspect confessed his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure, stolen 100 grams of gold items approximately worth Rs 6 lakh was recovered,” the spokesman added. He said further investigation of the case was going on.
