Theft case solved, stolen items worth Rs 2 lakh recovered

JAMMU, Jan 29: Domana Police has claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen items from his possession.
“Acting on a complaint lodged at Police Station Domana Jammu regarding theft in a house at Durga Nagar (Chinore, Jammu), a case under FIR Number 311/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Station Domana led by SHO Domana Inspector Tilak Raj assisted by PSI Anoop Kotwal did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up a suspect namely Mohd Mukeem son of Lt Jameel Ahmed, resident of Migrant Colony Talwara (Reasi).
“During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure stolen items viz. 2 LEDs, 2 laptops, 1 tablet, 1 camera and one bicycle worth Rs 2,00,000 were recovered,” the spokesman added.
