Theft case solved, stolen items worth Rs 4 lakh recovered

JAMMU, May 18: RS Pura Police today solved a theft case by arresting two thieves and recovering stolen items worth Rs 4 lakh from their possession.
Acting on a written complaint lodged by one person namely Sourabh Mahajan son of Romesh Chander Gupta of Sector 5-A Trikuta Nagar Jammu regarding a theft in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Station RS Pura, a case under FIR No 80/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at concerned Police Station and investigation started,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Station RS Pura led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and assisted by concerned SHO Inspector Pawan Kumar rounded up two suspected persons namely Sanju Kumar alias Munna son of Tarsem Lal, resident of Chak Aslm (RS Pura) and Rajat Kumar alias Donki son of Sardari Lal of Ward Number 7 (RS Pura).
“During questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the theft case and disclosed that they stole some items worth Rs 4 lakh from a factory situated at Chak Aslam and sold to a scrap dealer namely Jatinder Kumar alias Nathu son of Gharu Ram of Chohala (RS Pura),” the spokesman said, adding, during search, all the stolen items were recovered from the possession of scrap dealer.
He said both the thieves and the accused scrap dealer were arrested while further investigation of the case was going on.
